NetTutor® Online Tutoring Service
College of the Mainland is excited to announce our partnership with NetTutor® Online Tutoring Service! Beginning September 1st, 2012, this new partnership will provide all COM students with access to free, live online tutoring.
Live tutoring hours for a particular subject can be found when you enter the subject category on the NetTutor site. Subjects available are:
In addition to live tutoring sessions, NetTutor provides a Q&A Center, which allows you to ask questions offline that will be answered within 24 hours. NetTutor's Paper Center in the Online Writing Lab, allows you to upload papers for tutors to review and return with suggested corrections.
Click how to use NetTutor for a quick overview. Keep in mind that you will not have to log on to NetTutor, but will access NetTutor through your course on COM's Blackboard system.
NetTutor Access Instructions
Students registered in traditional, dual credit, web enhanced, hybrid or Internet format classes will all access NetTutor through COM's Blackboard course management system.
- Go to https://de.com.edu and log on using your WebAdvisor username and the password you created for your COM email account. If you have not created a unique password you will enter your seven (7) digit COM ID number as your password.
- Enter any of your courses by clicking on the title of the course.
- Click on the NetTutor link on the course menu to take you directly to COM's NetTutor site. If the NetTutor link is not displayed on the course menu, click on the Tools link, where all course tools are listed alphabetically.
- Once at the NetTutor site, select the subject category and then select the tutoring option that fits your needs.
Students who are having difficulty accessing Blackboard or cannot find the NetTutor or Tools link in their Blackboard course, should submit a support ticket at http://com.parature.com. Students who are having technical difficulty after accessing NetTutor should complete a NetTutor Customer Support Request form, which is located at the bottom of the COM NetTutor home page.
